Andrew Ladd (born on December 12, 1985 in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada) is a Canadian professional ice hockey winger who currently plays for the New York Islanders in the NHL.
Originally, Ladd was drafted & played for the Carolina Hurricanes and won a Stanley Cup with the team in 2004. On February 26, 2008, he was traded to the Blackhawks in exchange for Tuomo Ruutu.
Ladd played with the Blackhawks for 4 years; he won the Stanley Cup with the team in 2010, but on July 1, 2010, he was traded to the Atlanta Thrashers in exchange for Ivan Vishnevskiy and a second round draft pick (Adam Clendening) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
On February 25, 2016, Ladd was traded back to Chicago (along with Jay Harrison and Matt Fraser) by the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for Marko Dano and a first-round pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. During the 2015-16 season, he played for the team for 19 games.
On July 1, 2016, he signed as a free agent to a 7-year $38.5 million contract with the New York Islanders.
